Fighter Ace is an online Multiplayer game that allows you to take to the virtual sky in a wide ranging planeset. There are more types of planes than Aces High.
The Current version has been based around the game released in 2002. During it's transition, from the widely popular F.A 2.5, since it was hosted on Microsoft's gaming zone it has encountered difficulties.
After changing ownership twice in a space of 3 years one of the original creators of Fighter Ace Mark Vange is now in control. Mark has promised many new ideas and changes to win back the confidence of the community and is doing more than the previous owners.
However, with limited resources and funds I don't see how drastic improvements to the game can be made without re-writing the game from scratch. This is the biggest problem they face and players who want more will not be satisfied.
If you want a game that is easy to learn, will provide fast dogfighting action in an arcade style setting it will do that for you. As for strategy, immersion and gameplay it is seriously lacking compared to other games out there. My other main reason for not continuing to play are the player numbers. During GMT time zones having 30-60 guys split between 5 countries is unacceptable to me. In the past there used to be 100-200 without fail.
I hope that with the right decisions they focus on FA's unique selling point and stop catering for different groups. Promoting the game and getting new blood in whilst making sure they retain these players by having enough support and arena choices so that they can make the progression from arcade to higher level arenas without losing interest.
If I win the Euromillions at some point I will do just that.
