When I first came up with the idea to unite British pilots in a British squad I needed an appropriate squad name. Of course there could have been many RAF references to choose from.

I adopted "The Few" as our squad name because it includes every man who participated in Britain's finest hour. "The Few" were referred to in Churchill's famous speech. Here is Winston Churchill's picture. Typical cigar in mouth with the V for Victory gesture. He embodied the spirit of a nation with his rousing speeches and stubborn approach to anything Germany could throw at us. Probably the best war time leader any country has ever had in History.





It's not just a squad name, we remember, respect and honour their memory. Without "The Few" the world as we know it would have been a very different place.

For all the selfless sacrifices we salute "The Few" may they Rest in Peace.
